It means “A hundred thousand welcomes” in Gaelic and we believe it sets the perfect tone for our pub! We are the Armstrongs and we welcome you to our little pub, The Wandering Irishman.
We often get asked how we got started on our pub journey and the story goes like this. I was home recovering from knee replacement surgery in early 2026 when I stumbled across a Facebook post from a couple in Ohio who had built a mobile Irish pub and I thought - what a great idea! Those that know us, know we always have a knack for finding an Irish bar where ever we travel so after researching the idea, late night discussions over a cold pint and a lot of “are we really going to do this??” we decided to bring a little Irish Hospitality here to Eastern Iowa and The Wandering Irishman was born!

What started off as a bare 8’x20’ tiny home trailer is now home to The Wandering Irishman - A fully custom, hand-built pub. We designed and built our pub to make you instantly feel as though you’ve been transported straight off the cobblestone streets of Dublin or Galway into a true, timeless neighborhood pub. From the authentic finishes and rich wood trim to the inviting glow of the fireplace, every detail is designed to capture the authentic warmth, character, and spirit of Ireland.
Equipped with a custom three-tap draft system pouring cold, crisp pints, fully powered electrical system, TV with a bluetooth soundbar, and climate-controlled air conditioning, we bring all the comfort and charm of a traditional local tavern anywhere you need it. Whether you're gathering with friends, sharing a story over a perfectly poured drink, or enjoying the cozy atmosphere, you'll find a genuine taste of Irish hospitality waiting for you right here.
